San Francisco, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) January 26, 2011 — GreatDad LLC, which operates GreatDad.com, today announced the acquisition of PregnancyMagazine.com, as well as sister sites Pregnancy360.com and Mom360.com. Future US, the former owners, will license the current content for these sites to GreatDad.
“This acquisition is a key strategic move for GreatDad.com,” said Paul Banas, Founder and CEO of GreatDad. “It gives us a platform to provide our weekly pregnancy newsletter, naming database, and articles to moms as well as dads.”
Future US discontinued publication of the print version of Pregnancy Magazine in December 2010.
“Future US is excited that GreatDad.com can continue the editorial tradition of Pregnancy Magazine in the online space,” said Kate Byrne, Vice President of Technology, Future US.
“Extending the reach of Pregnancy Magazine online is a way for the property to continue to deliver great content on pregnancy, parenting, and lifestyle while reaching a broader audience than newsstand and subscription sales,” said Banas.
Banas served on the Advisory Board of Pregnancy Magazine, which included a monthly column from GreatDad.com.
There are 4 million births annually in the United States and there are 141,606,000 moms, according to the U.S. Bureau of Census. BMS Media Group calculates that mothers control $2.1 trillion in annual household spending.
