In the movie Life is Beautiful the Germans arrest Guido and his son at the uncle’s house during preparation for GiosuĂ©’s birthday party, and transfer them to a concentraction camp.

In just one of many scenes of flummox… Steve Martin as the Father of the bride, tells his daughter “Drive carefully. And don’t forget to fasten your condom.” At which point she screams “Dad!” To which he responds, “Seat belt! I meant seat belt!” That movie has so many “dad” moments, but that one just cracked me up.

My favorite scenes are in book, To Kill a Mockingbird, when Scout and Jem Finch learn from their father that the world isn’t always fair and that prejudice is a very real aspect of their world no matter how subtle it seems.
I would have to say the relationship between the dad and the girl in My Girl!
On Golden Pond is FULL of great dad and daughter scenes. The whole movie makes me cry!
In To Kill a Mockingbird, when Scout is in the audience when everyone stands up to honor her father as he leaves the courtroom.

My favorite dad scene is in Little Nemo when the dad fish is reunited with his son, Nemo.
My favorite “dad” scenes both include Clint Eastwood. While he wasn’t the biological father, he became the self-sacrificing father figure in “Million Dollar Baby” and “Gran Torino.” At the end of both movies he became the one true father to the fatherless kids and my heart was broken.
Thanks for the chance to win a great set of books. You guys rock!
I have always liked the movie “Sixteen Candles”. Years ago, I watched it with my dad and he told me how much he liked the dad character in the movie. He felt that the dad was the only one who “got” the daughter.
Not officially a “dad” scene but in the movie Secondhand Lions, they make reference to a “What every Boy needs to know about being a Man” speech that the one uncle gives to his great nephew. I would have liked to heard the whole speech.
I like the scenes from Mrs. Doubtfire. There are so many favorite scenes in this movie.
In Beauty and the Beast when Belle’s Dad tells her she’s not weird.
My favorite dad scene is in Kramer vs Kramer when the dad is trying to make breakfast for his son.
