Here are some healthy snacks that can be fixed in a snap:
Fruit Bricks: These are fun to play with, and they cover the fruit group. To make, dissolve three envelopes unflavored gelatin in 3/4 cup boiling water. Add one 12-ounce can frozen apple, orange or grape juice concentrate and stir until mixed. Pour into lightly sprayed 9-by-13-inch pan. Chill for several hours. Cut into fun shapes for building blocks and play-time fun.
Cupcones: Fun to eat and filled with good nutrition. Cut up fruit into bite-size pieces and place in wafer ice cream cup. Let the kids enjoy it right from the cone or by picking out the fruit with their fingers.
Cheese Sticks: Fun finger food that covers two food groups. Cut soft cheese into bite-size cubes. Insert a stick pretzel into each cube and let the kids eat the cheese and the sticks!
Frozen Bananas: A quick, easy and refreshing treat. Slice bananas into circles, roll in coconut or crushed cereal and freeze.
